Oh that is a Tremendous amount of frills! Pattern is somewhat dense, so seems to me it would turn out rather heavy. Plus it would stretch, a Lot! No one wore this any longer than it took to take the photograph. Used a similar stitch-pattern for my daughters dress when she was 17. It was at «mini-skirt» length. 3 months later, having worn it only twice, it was below her knees! I had intentionally made it short knowing it would stretch. Blocking just does not cause the stitches to «settle» length-wise.
